English Country Sideboard
Custom built reproduction of a primitive English country kitchen sideboard, or 1800s kitchen prep table. A simple design that would have focused on functionality in a small work space. One low shelf would have allowed for stacks of dishes or preping bowls and utensils excluding cabinet doors for quick access. One thick board is all that would have been needed across the top to serve as a quick chopping or prep space.
This open sideboard reproduction stands 38 inches tall and uses a reclaimed antique piece of old growth pine for the top. Top board has been cleaned and treated with natural wood oils to enhance natural darker wood patina caused by time and age.. Approximately 42" across and 19.5" wide with a shelf depth space just under 18".
Body is also built in reclaimed pine with cutout half moon legs/feet and hand painted in a vivid country blue with an antique glazed finish. A perfect piece to brighten up any farmhouse kitchen used in the traditional way or as a simple shelving unit or bookcase in a variety of rooms.

*As with all rustic/reclaimed projects there are some small nail holes and minor imperfections in the integrity of the wood owing to its former history that add originality and character to the piece.
